The official hurricane season in the Caribbean is from June 1-Nove 30 of each year with some hurricanes forming as early as May. The southeast region of the Caribbean has the least number of hurricanes while the southwest and northeast regions typically have the most. Hurricanes are most frequent in June and October however they rarely occur in the month of July. But there are some islands that are rarely affected by hurricanes despite the time of year: Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Trinidad, Tobago Grenada and Barbados. If planning travel to the Caribbean during this time, consider the month and location to decrease the chances of being affected by a hurricane. And always purchase travel insurance with hurricane protection.
