In today’s travel atmosphere of airline mergers and eliminated routes/service destinations, direct, non-stop flights are virtually non-existent. Even in major cities or travel hubs, these ideal flights are few and far between leaving the consumer with no choice but to schedule layovers during travel. Though this cannot be avoided in most situations, you can make these layovers less of an inconvenience and more of an addition to your travel plans. Consider booking layovers through cities that are easily accessible to popular attractions (i.e. museums, site seeing) or to airports that have added amenities (i.e. activity area, spas) to occupy your time should any delays arise.
