Adventure tourism is travel involving exploration with perceived/possible risk depending on the type. It is generally divided into 2 categories; hard and soft. Hard adventures are typically extreme activities that carry some danger (ie paragliding, bungee jumping and rock climbing). Soft adventures are leisurely and often educational (ie bird watching, architectural and safaris). If you are tires of the typical beach vacation, adventure tourism may be for you.
