In 2013, the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) adopted a passenger bill of rights in response to recent problem s aboard some cruise ships. “CLIA is dedicated to the comfort and care of all passengers on ocean going cruises throughout the world” and has submitted these rights to the International Maritime Organization in hopes of seeking formal global recognition. The bill details rights of passengers with regards to mechanical failure, compensation and emergencies.
