Many consumers say they want a “good value” but in reality they are looking for the cheapest option, two extremely different things. Value is defined as relative worth, merit or importance whereas the word cheap is defined as costing very little, of small value or shoddy. As it relates to travel, value is subjective to the individual traveler and can mean anything from experiencing a rare, sought after adventure to ensuring the upmost comfort and convenience. On the other hand, cheap translates to poor accommodations, unsafe areas and not so pleasant vacations. Though everyone loves a good bargain especially in these economic times, no one truly wants “cheap” when it comes to travel. Figure out what you value most as a traveler and use that as your guide.
