• Set a Realistic Travel Budget

Whether it’s a destination wedding, honeymoon or a must needed getaway, it can be easy to get carried away when planning a vacation only to be thrust back into reality once the price tag is revealed. This is because many people set unrealistic budgets. To avoid this disappointment, look at what you can realistically save after all necessary bills are paid per month. Then look at how many months you have to save this amount prior to needing the deposit (due immediately and typically the cost of the flight and a percentage of the hotel) as well as the final balance (typically due 60 days prior to travel).  A travel professional can advise on an appropriate budget for the desired vacation but remember they cannot work miracles.
