Flight delays are all too common in travel these days. And unfortunately have increased (as backlash some would say) due to the newly imposed rules and fines implemented by the US DOT. Some delays are unavoidable (i.e. weather, security or safety threat, etc) however there are some tips you can use to minimize and hopefully avoid them all together. Book non-stop flights and plan to fly early in the morning as delays build up over the course of the day. Next, choose an originator flight-one that begins at your specific airport at a specified time. Lastly, avoid airline hubs or main/principle airports in large cities due to increased volume of travelers and therefore increased possibility of delays.
