The allergy season is upon us and for those with food allergies the season never ends, making it difficult at times to travel. However, you don’t have to miss out on the pleasures of traveling if you take the right steps beforehand. Bring your own snacks while flying as specific foods may be hard to avoid in airports or train stations. Research the translation of your allergies to the primary language of your destination to avoid confusion when verifying triggers in food as well as the environment. Pack extra medication as well as carry a medical alert ID card/bracelet to alert medical professionals of your allergies. And lastly, research medical facilities at your destination that are equipped to handle your required emergent needs in case you need to seek help quickly.
