• Traveling for a Destination Wedding

Making sure airport security does not put a damper on the big day requires pre-planning. Pack all required supportive documents (marriage license, affidavits, etc) in your carry on. Make sure names on the airline tickets and passports match. It is up to the discretion of the individual TSA or immigration officer to decide if a marriage license can serve as a legal document for re-entry into the country. Pack cake cutting/ceremonial knives in your checked luggage or have it shipped. You will not be allowed on the plane with any knife-like object. Wrap gifts at your destination or in gift bags in case increased screening is required. When choosing wedding day attire, consider the size and ease of travel and check with the airline ahead of time to inquire about use of closet space in first class.
