Hungary is probably best known for its capital city, Budapest- “the Pearl of the Danube”. However, there is so much to see and do both within and outside of the borders of Budapest. For the nature and outdoors lovers, Hungary has a variety of terrain along with 10 national parks, 145 minor nature reserves and 35 landscaped protected areas. It is home to 9 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and has over 400 thermal spas in over 100 locations throughout the country. This also includes Budapest which has over 100 hot thermal springs and stalactite caves all within residential districts. Add in Hungary’s legendary hospitality and this country is a must see on any travelers’ destination list.
