Many hotels only allow a certain amount of occupants per room despite the space being big enough to fit a larger party, leaving consumers wondering if this is due to profit boosting on the part of the hotels. However this is not the case. Every hotel has a maximum room occupancy rate that is determined by the state fire marshal. The rate is determined by square footage of the room and the amount of people who can safely exit the hotel through the fire escapes. Though this may be inconvenient for big families/groups, it is necessary for your safety in the unfortunate event of a fire. But don’t fret as there are hotels that are equipped to handle larger parties which your travel agent can assist you with.
