• Don’t Rely on Credit Card Travel Protection

Quite a few travelers don’t purchase travel insurance because they think they have protection through their credit card company. Most cards advertize protections such as trip cancellation, interruption and delays however all credit cards are not made equal and to receive these, higher fees may be required. For those cards that do offer these protections the coverage is very limited and is usually subject to a max amount per annual period despite how many trips are taken. They also do not offer emergency medical and non medical evacuation. And of course, only travel purchases made with that credit card will qualify for protections. On the other hand, separate travel insurance offer numerous plans that can be custom made to cover what the traveler feels is most important without limitation.
