A charter flight is a flight where the entire aircraft has been rented rather than just one seat. They offer more flexibility than scheduled flights and a wider choice of destinations with tailor-made itineraries. There are 3 types of charter flights: private –single entity, private- affinity and public. Private-single entity is when an individual or company charters a plane and pays for the entire cost per flight. Passengers do not pay their own fare and there is no passenger minimum. Private-affinity charters are for passengers that are affiliated with a specific group, business or organization. Each passenger pays their own fare and none of the seats can be sold to the public. Public charters occur when tour operators rent an aircraft and sells to the public either directly or through a travel agent.
