• Avoiding Bedbugs While Traveling

There’s no secret that bedbugs have been on the rise over the past 10 yrs and they’ve been found any many places despite star level. However there are some things you can do to avoid bringing them home with you. Travel with a hard-shell suitcase and pack your clothing in sealed plastic bags. When you arrive to your hotel, do a thorough inspection. Make sure you check the bedding, mattress, headboard and in folds for small brown or black flake-like markings (bedbug droppings). Also make sure you keep your suitcase off of the floor and bed, preferably on a luggage rack or dresser (keeping your clothes inside of course). If you suspect bedbug infestation report this to the hotel staff immediately and have yourself moved (at least 2 floors away).  Lastly, do a thorough inspection outdoors and away from furniture/sleeping quarters when you get home. Wash and dry all clothes (even those unworn) in high heat and vacuum/steam clean your luggage before storing it away.
